What would you do in life if money was no object, and there was no one holding you back? I read something earlier this week that said, “stress is who you think you should be. Peace is who you are.” I started to really analyze my own day to day actions. Stress does not equal productivity, in fact it is always counterproductive. When we are stressed we are gripping at life and trying to control it. We become overwhelmed and our ability to view our experiences as a neutral observer vanishes.
“When a pilot cannot see the horizon because of low visibility, he or she doesn’t assume that the horizon has disappeared…faith is not just knowing that love is always there: faith is also knowing that that which is not love is not really there.” -Marianne Williamson, The Law of Divine Compensation
If you are unsure of what it is you are supposed to do in life, it is really much more simple than you think. Follow what you enjoy, because that is what you will be good at. I think it is important to be competent in certain things, which is why school exists. Having a basic understanding of mathematics is important, but it does not spark joy for me and so I’m not going to pursue a career that requires me to solve equations day in and day out. I would not maximize my souls potential by being a mathematician because my heart would not be in it. Simple as that.
We have a limited amount of time on this planet. Follow what sparks joy for you, because your passion will always lead you to your purpose. Something amazing happens when you get honest with yourself and start doing what you love. Your life will always manifest what you put the most energy towards. If you love writing, do that everyday. If your dream is to ride the perfect wave, then chase it around the world. If you don’t know what it is you love yet, that’s okay. Just follow what you like and what you are curious about. Make your primary focus what you enjoy, and the rest will fall into place. You are not on this earth to be on autopilot. Wake up each day and make the choice to ignite the fires of your dreams and extinguish the voice of fear.
