As we evolve, we are becoming more and more sensitive. From our environment, to the people we interact with, to the food we eat. We are metabolic beings, and whether we are consciously aware of it or not, we digest every experience. Life is a string of moments, there is no past. When we think about the past, we are simply playing a movie in our minds during the present. All we ever have is right now, so what matters is how we act in each moment. Life is simply a series of moments, and none of them are ordinary.
Finding balance in food has been huge for me. I have sought comfort in it, numbed myself with it, or been so controlling with what I put in my mouth that it restricts my whole life. Food can be a drug that many of us struggle with, and it is an inescapable relationship we will always have in life. So, we may as well cultivate a healthy one with it.
The truth is, there is no right way. There is only the right way for each of us. Health is found through nurturing our mind, body, and spirit. They are all deeply interconnected. When we nourish ourselves through exercise, internal self-care, and eating foods that have the nutrients our bodies need, it is life changing. We begin to live life in alignment with nature and can maximize our full potential. After years of experimentation on myself, I have learned to honor my body and not get attached to any one diet. There is a time to treat ourselves with chocolate and a time to have steamed kale. Intuitive eating comes from recognizing which one is resonating with your health in that moment. Pause, take a deep breath, and ask your body: will this nurture you? Is this what you need right now? Just that one breath, that one moment of questioning has stopped me from binging many times.
We live in a very fast paced culture where many of us work several jobs and do not have the time to prepare home cooked meals throughout the day. This menu with Crateful was created out of love and designed from my own personal experience with diet. I hope it resonates with your body, and that you continue to listen to your gut instinct not just in what food you choose to nourish yourself with, but in every aspect of your life.
